Like iThoughts, Mindnode/iOS does not let you edit in outline view.īut in the outline view on Macs you can delete nodes. MindNode is my preferred mind mapping app, mainly because of its simplicity, its (relative) platform independence (iPhone, iPad, Mac) and the fact that I can have multiple mind maps on a single canvas. Although Freeform is a free app and has features for collaborative whiteboard features, it is not the best mind-mapping tool because it's a general-purpose visual tool. Navigating and editing map is a bliss, it has. Mindnode’s text outline option came out for the Mac in 2015 with v.2, and the iOS ‘list view’ (with checkboxes) arrived with v.5 late last year, I think (could be wrong). 2 How about MindNode I would like to suggest a third option: MindNode. Freeform If you are considering using Apple's Freeform for free instead of MindNode as a mind-mapping tool, there are differences and limitations with Freeform. for collecting and structuring information, and organizing activities. I never found it very useful for outlining though… On the Mac iThoughts is more capable, but its complexity and more unrefined interface - compared to Mindnodes. Based on the award winning iThoughts for iPhone, iThoughtsHD has been designed specifically for the iPad. However, I don’t think any competitors match iThought’s broad feature set. I have both, and I agree with you, generally. iThoughtsHD brings mind mapping to the iPad. Our crowd-sourced lists contains more than 25 apps similar to iThoughts for Mac, Windows. Other mind mapping apps on iOS are prettier. The best iThoughts alternatives are Freeplane, XMind and FreeMind. It’s a convenience for browsing large maps. Folding the outline also collapses the selected parent node in the map. IThoughts on iOS-a mind mapper that has been around for a “long time” in iOS years-this week has a minor update that adds an outline view.
